The DFINITY Foundation closed its second World Computer Summit (WCS) with a historic moment: the live demonstration of Caffeine AI, the world’s first self-written application engine. Held at the Zurich event center with over 1,000 attendees, WCS25 brought together leading technologists, developers, policymakers, Web3 entrepreneurs, and the builder community to envision an open, decentralized, AI-driven Internet.
Ushering in the Self-Writing Internet
The highlight of the event was a live demonstration on the main stage led by Dominic Williams, Founder and Chief Scientist of DFINITY. He introduced Caffeine, a completely new end-to-end application creation tool that can build software through natural language prompts and a user-friendly interface.
“Caffeine is not just a product, but a vision to reshape the way people create software. The Self-Scripting Internet is no longer a concept in the lab, it is starting right here,” Dominic Williams said during the demonstration.
Along with that, the waitlist for access to the Alpha version of Caffeine is also officially opened at the microsite: join.caffeine.ai. This is considered the next strategic milestone in DFINITY’s mission to empower users with advanced AI technology on the Internet Computer Platform (ICP).
WCS25 Highlights: Decentralization, AI, and Data Sovereignty
WCS25 offers a series of sessions around hot topics such as:
Decentralized computing and sovereign cloud
On-chain AI and tamper-proof infrastructure
Investment and regulation in the Web3 era
New technology ecosystems on the ICP platform
Speakers from prestigious organizations such as UNDP, Animoca Brands, Cisco, ETH Zurich, 21Shares, BCG, Credit Agricole Italia, and many others delivered a common message: decentralization and AI are no longer “future trends”, but “present requirements”.
Energy from the ICP community and developers
A significant part of the conference is dedicated to activating the community and supporting developers building on the Internet Computer Platform (ICP). From early-stage projects to large-scale ecosystems, the Ecosystem Stage at WCS25 featured KongSwap, Liquidium, PiggyCell, Omnity Network, and a host of groundbreaking tools and demos.
The DFINITY team also showcased their OISY Wallet, Chain Fusion, and their strategy for scaling real-world applications through layers of security, proactive AI, and self-sovereign data.
Internet Computer 2.0: The Beginning of a New Era
At the end of a day filled with inspiration and innovation, the World Computer Summit 2025 made it clear that an open, decentralized Internet where users have full control over their data and can build applications with AI is no longer a distant vision. The DFINITY Foundation continues to be a driving force behind that vision, making technology more accessible, more secure, more powerful, and more accessible than ever before.
